About Me

Welcome to Out Loud Thoughts.

I’m Karen, and I’ve always loved to write. Writing has always been one of the ways I make sense of the world.

For most of my career, that writing lived inside conference rooms, product strategies, business cases, and presentations. As a product manager, I learned to listen carefully, ask questions, connect ideas, and tell stories that help people solve problems together. Storytelling wasn’t just part of my job – it became one of the skills I valued most.

A few years ago, my husband, Eric, encouraged me to start sharing my writing beyond the workplace. At his urging, I began posting regularly on LinkedIn. What surprised me wasn’t that I enjoyed writing. It was discovering that my thoughts and experiences resonated with other people.

After Eric’s passing, grief counseling encouraged me to keep writing. Not only to continue blogging, but also to try something new: fiction. What began as an exercise in healing has become another way to explore life, relationships, loss, hope, humor, and the stories that connect us.

That’s how Out Loud Thoughts was born.

This blog is a place for the thoughts that seem worth saying out loud. Some are personal reflections. Some are professional observations. Others are fictional stories inspired by the people, places, and moments that have shaped my life. I hope you’ll find something here that makes you think, smile, laugh, or perhaps see something familiar in a new light.

Thank you for reading, and for joining me as I continue thinking, writing, and sharing my thoughts out loud.
